Whoops, I did it again to quote Britney Spears. I promise I didn't mean too. In my last post I explained why I hadn't made a new post in such a long time and promised to be more consistent. Well, I failed but I do have some good reasons as to why and then again some not so good reasons lol. So let's get started.
So I am still loving my job and have been here almost a year. I finally acclimated to my working hours and work load and then something unexpected happen, I was given the opportunity to change my role. Now while I still finish at the same time, I now start at 6.30am meaning getting up at 5am. Yup that's right, now I am a Baker! Or as I like to describe it badly, I'm a professional reheater!
My Job
So I am still loving my job and have been here almost a year. And do you know what, I love it even more. Essentially I'm now my own boss, I have a routine to follow and once I'm done I clean up and go home. Only downside, hours are longer and due to getting up so early I often nap after work. And when I say nap I mean fall asleep til 10pm. But it keeps me busy and because everything I do is now controlled by timers, the day goes amazingly quickly so win win!
Dungeons and Dragons
Yup that's right total and utter geek-fest. After watching the show Community, my friends and I started playing Dungeons & Dragons and while it was a little complicated to begin with, we have dived right in and been on quite a few adventures with our first full dungeon looming ahead. Now while we don't play every night; we play once or twice a fortnight, our sessions do last between 6 and 10 hours each time. I have to say we are all really enjoying it and really getting into and developing our characters, though we as I'm sure a lot of other people do, spend a little too much time meta-gaming (hence our long sessions).
But in the end, we're still learning but having lots of fun.
Netflix and More
So I fell victim to the temptations of streaming media. When I was in the States, I had internet but minimal bandwidth so that meant no video. So once I was back I have been catching up with all the TV shows and YouTube channels I missed, and unfortunately that was a lot. It probably didn't help that all the shows I watch start their new seasons in the Fall/Autumn as well as a whole plethora of new shows starting. So my major hobby recently has been binge-watching. Signing up for Now TV and Amazon Prime Video didn't help either. Essentially by not going out as much as I used to, and spending more time watching shows I enjoy, I'm saving money, so its a good thing! Right?! I know you're probably thinking what shows, but I'll list just a few so you don't think I'm a total geek and dweeb lol.
The Walking Dead, from the beginning
Wayward Pines
Grimm
Castle
All the CW DC shows, Arrow, Flash etc

Cinema
As I previously stated, my local Cineworld closed down so bye bye subscription and free films. Now that doesn't mean I've stopped going, just that I don't go anywhere near as much as I used to. Now the price of a ticket these days is frankly extortional, I would pay the subscription fee (same price as a ticket now) and go as many times as I could each month and it was worth it. But now unless you want to see the same films multiple times it really isn't cost effective, at least for me at the moment.
As a result I've seen fewer new films and had less to write about, but maybe it has had a positive effect. It has made going to the cinema more like it was when I was young. It is more of an occasion now than something to do when I was bored.
Also I think the other reason I haven't written is disinterest if that's the right word. I know I've only just started and really just got into double digits with my posts but its the lack of interactions from readers and low view numbers that kind of disheartened me. It felt like no one was reading or caring if they did read and made me think why should I bother to continue to write posts. But on second thoughts, I'm only just starting out and should I really care what other people think. I will always respond to readers that comment, take any advice given or any topics people would like to see thoughts on.
So hopefully I'm going to make the same promise again and try to keep writing a lot more regularly. As always please comment with thoughts and advice or anything you think I would/should look into for future posts.
